Maths Calculation Workshop for Parents

On Tuesday 10th January, we held a maths calculation workshop for parents. The purpose of the evening was to share with parents some different strategies and methods we use at school to support children in solving calculations (+, -, x, ÷). Parents explored the concept of reasoning by explaining which method was most efficient and effective- mental, jottings or written.

Here are some of our feedback comments:

“An eye-opening workshop. It will now help in ways to teach my child some great ways to work out her sums plus help her with homework. Thank you”

“Very good insight in to how it is built from infants and how to support children at home with methods. Thank you!”

“Useful methods. Need to book myself in to another session! The number line was helpful.”

“I think the workshop was really useful, especially with big numbers. Now I have a really good idea about all the different methods I can use.”

“Thank you for making things a bit clearer!”

“A good practical session- it’s nice to know what the children are learning. I’m glad I came.”

Thank you to all the parents who attended the session, joined in and left such positive feedback. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
