Eco Schools: Bird Watching Activity

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) are organising a Big Garden Birdwatch over the next few days. Please follow the instructions below to take part.

It would be lovely to see some pictures of the birds that you have spotted in your garden - you can Tweet these (include RSPB's tag @Natures_Voice) and/or add this to your daily page with a short comment. For every picture you upload, you will be given 5 house points, so let's get bird watching! ðŸ™‚

  1. Pick a time
You can choose any hour between Friday 29th and Sunday 31st January. So, whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, you can still take part.

    Tell us what you see
Count the birds you see in your garden*. Ignore any birds that are still in flight. To avoid double-counting, just record the highest number of each bird species you see at any one time – not a running total.
  2. *This year our advice is to take part in the safety of your own home. This could include a birdwatch from your window if you overlook a green space or courtyard.
