What a wonderfully French-filled day we have had at Church Hill! From the moment the children arrived, the school was alive with French language, culture and creativity as we celebrated French Day 2026.
Church Hill C of E Junior School is delighted to celebrate the achievements of our pupils following the announcement of this term’s Attendance Award and Reading Raffle winners.
We are incredibly proud to share that around 40% of the school did not miss a single day this term, demonstrating fantastic commitment, resilience and enthusiasm for learning. All pupils who achieved 100% attendance were rewarded with 15 house points each, recognising their outstanding effort. Their names were then entered into a prize draw using a spinning wheel, building excitement across the school. The wheel stopped on one lucky pupil, who was awarded an Amazon voucher as this term’s attendance winner.
We are delighted to share some wonderful news from Church Hill C of E Junior School.
Polina has been announced as the winner of the Diocese Nativity Card Competition! Her beautifully designed card impressed the judges with its creativity, originality and clear connection to the Nativity story.
Our Year 3/4 children delivered a wonderful performance of Don’t Be Afraid, bringing the nativity story to life with confidence, humour and joy. The pupils sang beautifully, spoke clearly and worked together brilliantly to share the true meaning of Christmas with our school community.
Pupils, staff, and families at Church Hill C of E Junior School came together last week to support Children in Need, raising an impressive £569.37 for the charity.
Church Hill C of E Junior School held its much-anticipated biannual Environmental Day this week, bringing the whole school together to learn, reflect and take positive action for the planet. The day- led by Mrs Garick, the school's Geography leader- marked an exciting start to a new topic of conversation in which every class explored the environment, the challenges it faces and the steps we can all take to protect it.

The school council have had their first meeting and it was a very productive one! This year they have a double duty of also being the school's Eco-Warriors.

The Year 6 end-of-year production was a vibrant and memorable celebration of talent and teamwork, showcasing months of hard work and creativity. The performance was filled with energetic singing and dynamic dancing, with pupils confidently taking on solos that highlighted their individual skills.
Colourful costumes brought each character to life, while carefully designed stage props and backdrops added depth and flair to every scene. The production was not only a display of artistic ability but also a testament to the pupils’ collaboration and enthusiasm, leaving parents and families thoroughly impressed and proud.
