World Book Day Magic at Our School!
World Book Day was a truly wonderful celebration of imagination and creativity! So many children came to school in amazing costumes, bringing their favourite stories vividly to life. We began the day with a fabulous whole‑school assembly, where Mrs Saxton crafted an adventure story using ideas from every class. The highlight was watching Mrs Garlick guide four talented children as they illustrated the story live while it was being created!
Classes then joined the National Literacy Trust and Premier League Primary Stars live lesson, taking part in a fun quiz all about books and football, hosted by real authors and footballing stars.
Children were challenged to identify members of staff from their taste in books, by using the clues of 5 books from their bookshelves. The highest scoring child in each year group won a book voucher for the Book Fair.
To finish our exciting day, everyone wrote their own stories and created a book to showcase them. We are very proud to say that we have become authors and illustrators!
