Attendance

If your child is absent from school it is really important you notify the school office by 9.30am and also inform us of the reason for the absence. If this does not happen you will receive a call from the school asking why your child is absent from school. This is part of our safeguarding procedures.

It is also School Policy that no absence will be granted for holidays during term time.

We also monitor pupil absence on a regular basis and are obliged to communicate this information with you. If your child’s attendance falls below 95%, we will send a curtesy email to let you know. If it falls below 92%, you will get a text advising you of this. If your child's attendance is 90% or below this is classed as 'Persistent Absence'. We employ an Educational Welfare Officer who may get involved. Low attendance may also result in a fine.

Obviously we do understand that children get unwell and sometimes absence is unavoidable. However, we do ask you work with us and ensure your child is at school when fit and healthy.

REQUESTS FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCE

Please complete the form below if you are requesting time out of school for any reason.

Each case will be assessed on an individual basis.

PLEASE NOTE - Requests for holidays during term time will be unauthorised and the Education Welfare Officer (EWO) will be informed if the absence is taken. The EWO will decide if the absence will be fined.

Rewards for Good Attendance

Weekly: Trophy awarded to the class with highest attendance (Thursday- Thursday) in Friday Celebration Get Together
